In my opinion, Garry's Mod needs to be REVERTED back to the old Source, because it would have much better performance, and the golden experience would be back. Source 2 would be a disaster, and we would have to recover once again from the broken code. It broke many of my favorite maps, addons, and other modifications. Back in GM12, I used to download new addons every two days or so, but now? Nothing good comes up. Yeah, content is being released,but not of the same quality as in the past. There's so much you can do in garry's mod. TL DR game fanbase is bad and we should feel bad DarkRP servers are so cancerous that nobody really roleplays anymore, they just shoot at people and call RDM on everything. Instead of hundreds of coders producing new stuff on a weekly basis, we've got a whole load of people making dupes and saves in which they weld a whole load of random sh!t together and publish it. Now that GMod is losing popularity on YouTube, it's losing popularity in-game, as well as its quality. They were quickly replaced by people who enjoyed the work of "VAYNISS GAMMEN" and "ECH420 DELIIRIRAIRAF," removing even more people who got fed up with these annoying people. Sure, there's plenty of new addons, but that doesn't change the fact that GM13's release killed off a lot of older players' interest in the game. A full on seperate release using the Source 2 would be better for everyone then trying to cram it into the game as is. The game had been out for 9 years (10 by the time any potential GMod: Source 2 game comes out) and we're seeing game modes which have exclusive groups running them slowly go down either from simple lack of updates or from moving on to official games of their own. OT: I think GMod is fine as it is, and that the use of the Source 2 engine should be a seperate game to allow for transition to happen at the leasure of modders. I'm pretty sure that, since they're a buiness and thus it's money which is important, the community which is both larger and more active should be prioritized for attention, since even taking into account the fact that Rust cost twice as much as GMod the game is making less money as a whole. Rust (released in late 2013) current users in game: 14,856 Garry's Mod (released in 2006) current users in game : 46,007 On the other hand, they could spend their time upgrading Rust, a game people still play, thus making more money. GMod has been dying for the past three years, since GM13. They do not have to follow what their small fanbase wants, and likely will not. can work on garrys mod to get it working with source 2. HOWEVER! We can sign a petition, maybe if enough people sign and agree, just maybe. Garry doesn't plan on working on Gmod to get it up and running with source 2 so we can get bigger maps, better gameplay, and more content and expansions. along with playing popular game modes such as Trouble in terrorist town, you'd think that you should make it where people can do even more with a game that's 11 Years old by upgrading it to a new, modern, and improved game engine that's also 64bit unlike the old source engine that's 32bit and doesn't use all your computers cores. With the many people that play garry's mod daily, and build. That sucks doesn't it? no smooth gameplay? No Nice Fps? No clean graphics? Not to mention the ability to have bigger maps, and more content to be made.

Sadly, Garry's Mod is said to not be upgraded to the fantastic, optimized and 64 bit source 2 due to be running on a heavily modified source engine. many famous valve games are being remastered for the source 2 experience.
